Precious Blood Peace and Justice Grant
As Missionaries motivated by the Precious Blood of Jesus, we strive to serve all people, especially the poor, with care and compassion, hope and hospitality.
Individuals, organizations, and projects requesting a Precious Blood Peace and Justice Grant must address the needs of the poor. The project objectives must empower the poor to improve their quality of life. Requests for grants from projects directed by fully incorporated C.PP.S. men or women, or covenanted Companions may be from $1,000-$10,000. Projects in the United States not directed by C.PP.S. may be from $1000-$5000. Funds will be distributed in the fall.
Highest priority will be given to human development grants that:
• Foster participation of the poor in making their condition more viable and just.
• Seek systemic change of unjust situations and/or involve reconciliation.
• Raise consciousness of the causes of an injustice.
• Provide direct services to alleviate the effects of poverty and injustice.
In evaluation of the grants, the following criteria will be considered:
• Directly addresses the poor and marginalized.
• Alternative funding sources.
• Demonstrated need.
• Having the greatest impact on the largest number of people.
• Connection with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.
Given that the above criteria have been met, preference will be given to projects from C.PP.S. members or local C.PP.S. communities that are significantly involved in the project. Projects directed by a C.PP.S. member will, be judged on an individual basis.
Projects in the United States not directed by the C.PP.S. will be funded for a maximum of three years. After that, the project leaders are to seek funding from other sources.
